How Minnesota Nice of the U to give the Vikings a discount on renting TCF Bank Stadium ("A year later, Vikings pay discounted bill to the U," Dec. 13).
Students who see their tuition skyrocketing must be pleased to know that the University of Minnesota went out of its way to be "flexible" in recovering less money from the Vikings' billionaire owner than his team owed.
With this precedent of public institutions negotiating simultaneously with and on behalf of the team, no wonder the Vikings feel entitled to dictate the terms of a taxpayer-funded new stadium.
