MODERN MARVELS
Metropolitan Home, the shelter publication, is long gone, but this book pays homage to the mag's annual celebration of the best in modern design and architecture.
Magazine-like in its glossy presentation and great photography, "Metropolitan Home Design 100: The Last Word on Modern Interiors" (Fillipacchi, $45) fills a void. From No. 1 (Most Striking [and Surprising] Fireplace) to No. 100 (Most Masterly Millwork in Manhattan), the book is a visual tour de force that leaves the reader wondering, "How could I get a house like that?"
