• LOS ANGELES 5, SEATTLE 4: Carlos Perez, a catcher from Venezuela, capped his major league debut with a game-ending homer in the ninth, and the Angels ended their four-game skid with a victory over the Mariners in Anaheim. Erick Aybar and Johnny Giavotella delivered RBI singles off Danny Farquhar to tie it in the eighth for the Angels, who had blown a one-run lead earlier in the eighth. Perez swung at the first pitch leading off the ninth from Dominic Leone.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

• SAN FRAN. 6, SAN DIEGO 0: Ryan Vogelsong threw seven innings of three-hit ball, and Joe Panik homered as the Giants won their fifth consecutive game by beating the visiting Padres. Brandon Crawford had three hits and drove in a run for the Giants, who won their eighth straight at home.
