Eddie Lacy's powerful running early on helped propel Green Bay to a 20-12 win over Oakland in a preseason game Thursday night.

Lacy had nine carries for 45 yards, capped by a 1-yard touchdown dive on third-and-goal, highlighting a 14-play, 74-yard drive to start the game as the Packers again played without quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

With a healthy Rodgers again held out, second-year backup Brett Hundley made the start in his preseason debut.

But after directing the early touchdown drive, which used more than half of the clock in the first quarter, Hundley left the game early in the second quarter because of an ankle injury.

Derek Carr ran Oakland's offense for a half Thursday but wasn't effective.

The third-year starter completed nine of 13 passes for just 38 yards and had an underthrown pass to standout receiver Amari Cooper picked off by Damarious Randall.

Patriots 23, Bears 22: Jimmy Garoppolo threaded a 16-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone to A.J. Derby late in the first half for his first TD pass of the preseason as New England edged Chicago.

Garoppollo played the entire first half and one series in the second half, finishing 16-for-21 for 181 yards. Tom Brady, who is suspended for the first four games of the regular season, did not play.

Bengals 30, Lions 14: Jeremy Hill ran for a 9-yard touchdown on Cincinnati's first possession, and the Bengals went on to the victory over Detroit.

Hill hurt his left hand in Cincinnati's preseason opener last week, but he had three carries for 16 yards against the Lions and also caught a pass.

Former Cincinnati receiver Marvin Jones, signed by the Lions in the offseason, had four catches for 65 yards against his former team.

Falcons 24, Browns 13: Robert Griffin III threw two touchdown passes in the first half in his home debut for Cleveland in its loss to Atlanta. Griffin found wide receiver Terrelle Pryor streaking down the right sideline on Cleveland's second drive of the game for a 50-yard scoring strike. Griffin connected with tight end Gary Barnridge for a 22-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Eagles 17, Steelers 0: Pittsburgh quarterback Landry Jones threw four interceptions and Philadelphia capitalized. Nolan Carroll's 38-yard interception return for a score was the lone touchdown of the first half, helping the Eagles to the victory.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was held out for the second straight week along with running backs Le'Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams and wide receiver Antonio Brown.
