Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys, who handled the coaching duties for the Gophers during Saturday's loss at Michigan in the absence of head coach Jerry Kill, represented the program on Tuesday's weekly Big Ten coaches' teleconference. Claeys said that Kill, who suffered a seizure Saturday morning, was still at home, and that there was no need to rush back to work because the team has a bye this week.

"He's doing good, continuing to get the rest he needs and work with his doctors to do the best they can to get the situation under control with his medicine, which they still believe they can do,'' Claeys said.

Claeys said he spoke with Kill Tuesday morning, but said he has not asked Kill when he's returning to his work. The Gophers have their first practice this week on Wednesday, but Claeys said there is no rush.

"We'll just see how it goes,'' Claeys said. "It's all around when his doctors appointments are, that kind of stuff. It's all about getting rest, his medication…so there's no hurry to get back.''

Claeys took repeated questions about Kill's status, saying at one point: "Everybody's frustrated, but we all know the routine. It's happened before. We're just going through the process, same old, same old. Same process. When he gets back, he gets back.''
