Key dates for NBA's opening week

Week 1 of NBA: The highlights

Tuesday: The NBA season begins with a TNT doubleheader. At 7 p.m., Kyrie Irving faces his old team when Boston plays at Cleveland. At 9:30 p.m., the Warriors raise their second championship banner in three years and Chris Paul makes his Rockets debut when Houston plays at Golden State.

Wednesday: The new-look Timberwolves open their season at San Antonio in a nationally televised game (8:30 p.m., ESPN, FSN).

Friday: The Wolves play their home opener in newly refurbished Target Center against Ricky Rubio and the Utah Jazz (7 p.m., FSN).

Next Sunday: The Wolves get their first look at the Thunder's new Big Three (Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony) when they play at Oklahoma City (6 p.m., FSN).
