The worst season in Pittsburgh basketball history cost coach Kevin Stallings his job.
Stallings was let go by the university on Thursday, just two days after the Panthers completed an 8-24 season that included an 0-19 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
Stallings went just 24-41 in two years at Pitt after replacing Jamie Dixon in March 2016.
Theus let go
Reggie Theus is out as coach at Cal State Northridge, as is athletic director Brandon Martin. Campus police are investigating an alleged physical altercation between the men.
University President Dianne Harrison said in a statement that the school is "parting ways" with both men. No reason was given and she made no reference to their alleged encounter in her statement.
Theus, a former UNLV star who played and coached in the NBA, had a 53-105 record over five years.
