CINCINNATI – With several All-Stars pitching Sunday and other players nursing injuries, the rosters for the Midsummer Classic went through some more changes before Tuesday's game.
The Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw replaced Nationals ace Max Scherzer for the NL, meaning the reigning NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner will make the All-Star team for the fifth year in a row, despite a 6-6 record. Kershaw has a 2.85 ERA.
On the American League roster, the Angels' Hector Santiago will replace Oakland's Sonny Gray, who pitched a two-hitter at Cleveland on Sunday. Santiago is a first-time All-Star after going 6-4 with a 2.33 ERA.
Also, Milwaukee's Ryan Braun replaced St. Louis' Matt Holliday, who was voted in as a starting outfielder but remains on the disabled list due to a quadriceps injury.
