In a fundraising email titled "Fighting for you, DFL gubernatorial candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher asks for donations in with blunt language about her oppenents.

"Unlike my primary opponents, I can't just write a personal check to finance this campaign. Last night a KSTP news story showed my opponents are using their personal fortunes to get ads on the airwaves early. Your help will get us on the air," the email said.

Here's Kelliher's complete email:

Dear Friends,

You have heard me say it before, and I will say it again: this isn't my campaign for Governor; it's OUR campaign for Governor. More and more people from all walks of life and every corner of this state are joining our campaign every day. Working together, we will renew the promise of Minnesota.

Over these last two weeks I was proud to earn the endorsements of 10,500 Minnesota Laborers, more than 3,000 United Auto Workers, the Minnesota Women's Press, Duluth Mayor Don Ness, and Hanover Mayor Martin Waters.

I am proud to stand with Minnesota Nurses as they stand up for the safety of their patients. I was honored to speak with Operating Engineers in Mountain Iron about creating good-paying jobs for hard working families.

I was deeply concerned to speak with a worried parent in the North Branch School District who is transferring her student to Forest Lake High School because of budget cuts.

I was excited to stand with State Rep. Tom Rukavina at Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in Virginia and State Rep. Michael Nelson at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park to affirm our commitment to building the best-trained workforce in the nation.

I stood firm in Rochester with State Rep. Andy Welti and State Rep. Tina Liebling. I made it clear my first action as Governor will be signing an executive order to bring $1.4 billion in federal tax dollars and 22,000 jobs to Minnesota hospitals and clinics.

And I am proud to stand with my running mate John Gunyou as we fight for working families all across this state. Together, we will deliver on the promise of a great education for every child, put Minnesotans back to work, and provide health care for every Minnesotan.

Just weeks ago, DFLers from every corner of Minnesota endorsed our campaign for Governor. Working together, we will win in August, and we will beat Tom Emmer in November.

But we can't do it without your help. Unlike my primary opponents, I can't just write a personal check to finance this campaign. Last night a KSTP news story showed my opponents are using their personal fortunes to get ads on the airwaves early. Your help will get us on the air.

If you read the City Pages this week, you know I don't quit. I never give up. And I will never forget who I am fighting for.

We WILL have the resources to win in August and November. Join the campaign today. Sign up to volunteer, and contribute what you can to win this people powered campaign for Governor.

Thank you for your support. Let's win this campaign!
