Australian country music star Keith Urban announced details Monday of his latest world tour, which will include a May 14 stop at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. at recession-friendly prices: $20 to $61.50.
Urban appeared on stage three times but never in a lead role during the Grammys telecast on Sunday, which included his unlikely stint playing guitar alongside B.B. King and John Mayer during the Bo Diddley tribute.
He also appeared on screen several times in the crowd with his wife, actress Nicole Kidman. The singer's spotlight seems to shine bright in the Twin Cities, though, where his 2005 performance at the X was then his highest-attended indoor gig. He also sold out the arena in 2007.
"I know that we are going to give our fans in Minnesota a night to remember, a night where they'll be able to leave their cares at the door and just let loose for a few hours" Urban said in a press release, setting up the title for his 2009 outing, the Escape Together Word Tour. "Chicken Fried" hitmakers the Zac Brown Band will open all the shows. Urban's new album, "Defying Gravity," hits stores March 31.
