Keeping tabs on Wednesday's morning commute

Good morning, commuters!

All is quiet and all is calm on metro area mainline roads, and that's a welcome relief after Tuesday when an ill-timed snow fall led to 150 crashes and 28 spin outs. Most of those occurred during the 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. timeframe.

Nothing like that is expected today. However, the temperature is hovering around zero so any snow melt from yesterday likely froze. Bridge decks and secondary streets could have icy spots, so do use caution.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
