Good morning, commuters!

It's bitterly cold this morning with windchills close to minus 28 degrees. The actual air temperature is minus seven degrees. That combination makes black ice a real possibility so be careful out there.

But first things first, and that's getting your vehicle started. Then second, you have to keep it running. A motorist on southbound I-35W at County Road J in Shoreview got started but could not keep things running. The stall is blocking the right lane. This could be a common sight on the roads today.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
