Good morning, commuters!

Roads are dry again, but that will not be the case for the drive home. Meteorologist Paul Douglas says 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected to fall this afternoon. As we know, that is just enough to slicken up the roads and bring traffic to a crawl.

The present hazards include a car versus deer crash on westbound Hwy. 36 just west of Hwy. 61 in Maplewood. And even more menacing and dangerous is a grey minivan heading the wrong direction on eastbound 394 at Louisiana Avenue. Eyes on the road and keep alert for this one.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
