In case you missed it in the Sunday paper: My colleague, Lynn Underwood wrote a recent story about a penthouse condo on the 25th floor of Landmark Tower in downtown St. Paul. The unit, which covers the entire top floor of the building, has 4,200 square feet of indoor living space and 4,500 square feet of outdoor terraces, including 360-degree views of the surrounding city. It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and three parking spaces. Your monthly association fee would be a little more than $2,000 a month and your 2011 property taxes would be more than $12,000

The unit is listed by Amy Sperling of Hoffman Parking Urban Realty, has The place is owned by Lowell Hellervik- founder of Personnel Decisions International - and Cay Shea Hellervik, also of PDI.

For whatever reason, the condo market in downtown St. Paul doesn't get as much attention as the downtown Minneapolis condo market, earlier this month there were were about 70 units on the market, including five deals that were pending, according to east metro real estate specialist,Joyce Peterson of Coldwell Banker Burnet. The unit above isn't the most expensive, nor is it the biggest. There's another one the market in downtown St. Paul with 5,100 square feet and is listed at just shy of $3 million.
