Junior winger Warning honored by Big Ten hockey

Junior left winger Sam Warning of the Gophers was named one of the Big Ten's three weekly stars in men's hockey. Warning, picked the second star, had three assists as No. 1-ranked Minnesota tied and beat Boston College this past weekend.

He has a six-game points streak and is tied for the national lead in points with 12 on five goals and seven assists.

• Former Twin Gene Larkin was named coach of Edina's American Legion baseball team. Larkin is one of the two partners in Players Only, an Eden Prairie-based indoor baseball training center.

• The Gophers women's golf team finished fifth in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Banchalee Theinthong was its top finisher in eighth with a 144 total.
