JOSHUA BELL

Tuesday: Superstar violinist Joshua Bell returns to Minneapolis to perform with Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra for one night only. Bell and Vänskä are keen collaborators, but Bell has not performed with the orchestra since 2009, when he starred at both Orchestra Hall and on an eight-concert European tour. He is featured in the flamboyant "Symphonie espagnole" by Édouard Lalo, a show-stopping virtuoso violin piece. The program also features the orchestra in the Rimsky-Korsakov "Capriccio espagnol" and the Mussorgsky "Pictures at an Exhibition," orchestrated by Ravel. (7:30 p.m. Tue., Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall, $30-$100, 612-371-5656, minnesotaorchestra.org.)
