John Daly doesn't take kindly to bad press

Well then.

Garry Smits of the Florida Times-Union is engaged in a slight tussle with golfer John Daly. It seems that Daly didn't take too kindly to an article Smits wrote about Daly's PGA Tour personnel file. This follow-up from Smits:

John Daly has deleted a Twitter feed Wednesday asking his fans to call me at my company-owned cell phone number. Around midnight, Daly posted three "tweets" criticizing me for the article I wrote in Tuesday's Florida Times-Union detailing the contents of his PGA Tour personnel file between 1991-2008.

The file became public record last November after Daly dropped his appeal of a lawsuit he filed against Morris Communications, the parent company of the Times-Union. The story summed up his various incidents over the years, such as being cited by the Tour 11 times for "conduct unbecoming a professional" and 21 times for "failure to give best efforts."

The story ran on the day that Daly's second reality show on The Golf Channel premiered.

"Here's the jerk who writes NON-NEWS article on the debut of my show," Daly wrote in the first Twitter feed. "CALL & FLOOD his line & let's tell him how WE feel."
