JACK JOHNSON TO HIT THE APPLE RIVER

Hawaii's laid-back acoustic rocker Jack Johnson -- who's buried in sand on the cover of the March 6 issue of Rolling Stone magazine -- could be up to his neck in the Apple River on June 22, when he's set to perform at River's Edge Park in Somerset, Wis. Tickets ($40) go on sale March 15 at 11 a.m.

The opener on Johnson's summer tour will be his longtime Minneapolis cohort Mason Jennings, whose new album lands in May on Johnson's own label, Brushfire Records. As always, a portion of the proceeds and other initiatives will be taken to benefit Johnson's numerous environmental causes. To promote eco-friendly initiatives among fans, Johnson created a "fan-intensive experience" online for the tour at www.AllatOnce.org.
