"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling is receiving accolades Wednesday morning after responding to a fan who tweeted that she "can't see" Dumbledore as gay.

"I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is a gay because I can't see him in that way," Twitter user Ana Kocovic wrote to Rowling in a since-deleted tweet.

"Maybe because gay people just look like… people?" the writer responded.

Dozens of followers replied to Rowling's post with support: "You are my favorite human ever"; "You are the queen"; "Preach!"

The original poster was initially one of those supporters too, but she has since deleted her Potter-related tweets. According to BuzzFeed, which took a screenshot of the posts before they were removed, Kocovic replied to Rowling, "Amazing answer… Yes you are absolutely right. Such an inspiration!!!"

Rowling revealed Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore's sexuality after the "Harry Potter" series concluded, saying she had to cut a scene from the sixth film where Dumbledore remembered a lost lady love.
