1930: Second Church of Christ Scientist builds the 10-story Ziggurat tower as part of a proposed full-block development with three other towers linked to a central dome.
1965: Church sells the building, which then becomes a seedy office building.
1986: City of Minneapolis designates the Ivy Tower historic.
1994: Owner applies for demolition permit after boarding up the building.
1995: Fire burns upper floors.
Late 1990s: David Kaiser buys an option and plans a cigar club.
2000: Developers Jeffrey Laux and Gary Benson buy the building and develop a plan for offices.
2004: Hotel plan moves forward and condo sales are launched.
2007: Hotel Ivy + Residences opens.
