Sidney Lowe has been added to the Timberwolves coaching staff, the team confirmed Friday morning.

This will be Lowe's fourth time coaching alongside Saunders, previously serving as an assistant under him in Minnesota both from 1999-2000 and 2003-05, and in Detroit from 2005-06.

Lowe played for the Wolves in their first NBA season, in 1989-90, and was a television analyst the next year. He was the team's head coaching from midway through the 1992 season, after Jimmy Rodgers was fired, through the next season.

Prior to re-joining Saunders' staff, Lowe served three seasons (2011-14) as an assistant with the Utah Jazz on former Timberwolves teammate Tyrone Corbin's staff after previously serving as the head coach at North Carolina State University from 2006-11.
