Red-hot Red Sox beat Brewers BOSTON 10, MILWAUKEE 4: John Lackey retired 15 batters in a row after a shaky start, Adrian Gonzalez and David Ortiz had three hits each and the Red Sox won for the 12th time in 13 games Friday night in Boston. Tied at 4-4 in the fifth inning, the Red Sox went ahead to stay on Gonzalez's leadoff homer. Boston increased its AL East lead to 2 1/2 games over the Yankees.
COLORADO 13, DETROIT 6: Chris Nelson hit his first major league home run during a six-run second inning and Carlos Gonzalez homered and doubled to drive in four runs, helping the Rockies beat the Tigers in Denver.
CLEVELAND 5, PITTSBURGH 1: Carlos Santana homered as the Indians opened a six-game interleague homestand. Santana broke a 2-for-26 slump by hitting his eighth homer of the season. Travis Hafner returned to Cleveland's lineup and hit an RBI double in the eighth.
L.A. ANGELS 4, N.Y. METS 3: Peter Bourjos hit a tiebreaking double and turned in a sensational catch in New York, helping Joel Pineiro nail down his 100th major league victory. Torii Hunter had three hits, including an RBI single, for Los Angeles.
TAMPA BAY 5, FLORIDA 1: Sean Rodriguez and Kelly Shoppach homered, Wade Davis pitched six solid innings and the host Rays beat the Marlins. Rodriguez finished with four RBI. He put the Rays ahead with a two-run homer in the second off Brad Hand and added a two-run double in the eighth.
TEXAS 6, ATLANTA 2: Colby Lewis and Nelson Cruz shook off slumps and Josh Hamilton hit a two-run homer to help the Rangers beat the host Braves. Cruz, who had been 0-for-18 with 10 strikeouts in his past five games, drove in three runs with two doubles.
KANSAS CITY 5, ST. LOUIS 4: First baseman Albert Pujols' fielding error with two outs in the eighth enabled the tiebreaking run to score from second base, and the Royals handed the host Cardinals their seventh consecutive loss.
ARIZONA 4, CHICAGO WHITE SOX 1: Daniel Hudson threw a three-hitter, his first career complete game, for the Diamondbacks in a victory over the White Sox in Phoenix. Hudson outpitched the player he was traded for last July 30, Chicago's Edwin Jackson.
