Whether an abused or neglected child is getting protective services largely depends on the county the child lives in. Some counties in the state "screen out" more than 85 percent of child abuse reports, meaning they don't investigate the case or provide the child any protective services.
We respect the desire of some tipsters to remain anonymous, and have put in place ways to contact reporters and editors to ensure the communication will be private and secure.
