ROCHESTER, Minn. — Police say an infant delivered by emergency surgery following an assault on the mother has died at a Rochester hospital.
Authorities said Monday the baby died Sunday night at Mayo Clinic-Rochester Methodist.
KTTC -TV reports police say the woman, who was 26 weeks pregnant, was attacked by her ex-boyfriend on Thursday. Authorities say the woman drove herself to the hospital after suffering abdominal pains. Doctors delivered the baby by emergency cesarean section. The child was on life support until Sunday night.
A 20-year-old Rochester man has been arrested.
