One play stood out during the host Green Bay Packers' 27-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night in the teams' preseason finale. It happened on a dead ball in the fourth quarter.

After Packers running back Dexter Williams scored the deciding touchdown with 6:24 to play and Sam Ficken hit the PAT, a fan raced onto the field as the two teams prepared for the ensuing kickoff. The fan ran about the length of the field and managed to take off his shirt before Kansas City safety Harold Jones-Quartey planted him at the 25-yard line.

The tackle earned the loudest cheer from the announced crowd of 73,803.

As for the game, Green Bay backup quarterback DeShone Kizer, with Aaron Rodgers looking on from the sideline, rebounded from a costly interception to finish with 77 yards and a touchdown on 8-of-15 passing.

Dexter Williams added 34 yards and a score on the ground for Green Bay, which opens the regular season Sept. 5 at rival Chicago.

The Chiefs, with reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes on the bench, were led by backup Kyle Shurmur. The undrafted rookie out of Vanderbilt went 14-for-20 with 143 yards and a touchdown.

Atlanta 31, Jacksonville 12: The Falcons ended a 12-game preseason losing streak with a victory over the host Jaguars and seemingly also found a solution to their kicking woes, as 44-year-old Matt Bryant is scheduled to try out at the team's training facility Friday.

Assuming Bryant is healthy, he is expected to sign on for a 19th NFL season — his 11th with Atlanta.

Baltimore 20, Washington 7: Dwayne Haskins completed 10 of 17 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown and showed flashes of why the host Redskins consider the No. 15 overall pick out of Ohio State their quarterback of the future in their loss to the Ravens.

Cleveland 20, Detroit 16: Austin Seibert appeared to lock up the Browns' kicking job after a summerlong battle with Greg Joseph, making two field goals and two extra points in a victory over the visiting Lions, who finished the preseason 0-4.

Tennessee 19, Chicago 15: Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro went 3-for-3 on field goals but also missed an extra point in his bid to secure a roster spot in a loss to the visiting Titans.

N.Y. Giants 31, New England 29: Rookie Jarrett Stidham bolstered his bid to be Tom Brady's backup by throwing two touchdown passes for the host Patriots before New York scored on the final play.

Etc.

• Cleveland running back Kareem Hunt will spend part of his NFL suspension rehabbing after surgery. Hunt, who will serve an eight-game ban for two off-field altercations in 2018 while he played for Kansas City, had a sports hernia repaired Thursday, hours before the Browns played Detroit in their exhibition finale. Hunt had been expected to play before beginning his suspension Sept. 8, when the regular season begins.

• The Dolphins announced after their 16-13 victory at New Orleans that veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick will be Miami's starting quarterback in Week 1. Fitzpatrick will get the nod over Josh Rosen, the 2018 first-round draft pick for Arizona who was dealt to Miami this offseason.

• Green Bay agreed to send outside linebacker Reggie Gilbert to Tennessee for a conditional 2020 draft pick. Gilbert played all 16 games for Green Bay last season and had 15 quarterback pressures, ranking second on the team.

• The Browns acquired offensive lineman Wyatt Teller from Buffalo for fifth-round and sixth-round picks in 2020; Buffalo also received a seventh-round pick in 2021.

• Arizona traded offensive lineman Korey Cunningham to New England for a sixth-round pick in 2020.
