Gita Mazumdar, St. Paul: "Thatís my mum, her bindi smeared from kissing me multiple times. 55 years ago, she worked as a pediatrician, full time, practicing what she preached. She came home twice during her long work day to nurse me. Although she did her residency and post-graduate studies in the U.S. (in the 1950ís) she returned, with my father, to grow two children in India. It was a lovely venue for my childhood. Thank you dear Ma!" Mom was Mira Mazumdar.

Nothing tugs at our heartstrings more than looking at photos and stories that readers sent in about their mothers. It's our most popular topic — even ahead of Santa and dogs. We read about moms who speak three languages, moms who sewed matching outfits, moms who have a thirst for adventure and moms who were gone much too early. But the underlying theme, of course, is love, which these readers have for their moms in spades.
