In focus: Minnesotans' holiday keepsakes make spirits bright

Now is the time of year when everyone gets a little nostalgic. Trees are trimmed with ornaments from generations past; kitchens are filled with the smells of favorite cookies, and it's not difficult to find an old holiday movie to get you in the spirit. Debby Rose, Shoreview: In 1963, when my husband, Kevin, was 12, he used money earned from his paper route to buy these little choirboy figurines as a Christmas gift for his mother. We acquired them after she died. I added the matching little girl when I found her at an antique fair a couple years ago. Together they have a special place on our shelf and in our hearts.
