The final four: The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the pairings for the playoff semifinals on ESPN at 11:45 a.m.
The next eight: At 2 p.m., the committee will announce pairings for the rest of the "New Year's Six" bowls: Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl. The final CFP top 25 also will be announced.
The rest: The numerous other bowl teams (there are 80 bowl teams total) that haven't yet accepted a bid will find out their destinations and opponents throughout the afternoon. The Gophers should learn their fate midafternoon.
Gophers projection: Quick Lane Bowl, Dec. 28, Ford Field, Detroit. Projected opponent: Akron (replacement for ACC team).
