HomeServices of America Inc is buying Silicon Valley's Intero Real Estate Services

The deal includes 13 offices in Northern California

HomeServices of America, Inc., the parent company of Edina Realty, continued its buying spree. The Minneapolis-based affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway said today that it had acquired Intero Real Estate Services, one of the five largest brokerages in Silicon Valley.

Intero is based in Cupertino, but the deal includes 13 offices throughout the San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Benito counties in Northern California. Terms were not disclosed.

HomeServices is in the midst of an aggressive expansion in both new and existing markets across the country, and with nearly 7,300 unit sales worth $5.7 billion in 2013, this deal ranks among the largest. Here's a link to the full press release.
