United selected UCLA forward Abu Danladi of UCLA, who grew up in Ghana, was the first overall pick in the draft.

Former Bloomington Jefferson star Jackson Yueill was selected with the sixth overall pick by the San Jose Earthquakes. Yueill, a midfielder, also played college soccer for UCLA.
