Jax Cafe

Jax has kept its cool since opening after the end of Prohibition in 1933. Saunter into the distinguished supper club between 3:30 and 6 p.m. daily or 9-10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and enjoy select $3 domestic bottles, $4 pints or $5 wines and cocktails barside or on the patio.

Murray's

With a name like Murray's, this upscale steakhouse could just as easily be a dirty-glass dive bar. Thankfully, the Silver Butter Knife slingers are a classy bunch and prefer porterhouses to warm PBRs. Still, those on dive-bar budgets can take advantage of $4 taps, $5 select wines and half-price rails and select apps weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m.

Kincaid's St. Paul

No need to save this downtown St. Paul steak and seafood restaurant for a special-occasion splurge. Post up in the lounge for happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to close Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday to enjoy select $4 taps and wines, $5 cocktails and discounted apps.
