Greetings
ESPN is reporting, and some sources have confirmed to me, that four--star wide receiver James Green will be playing at Toledo rather than Minnesota this fall.
Green was the 6-2, speedy receiver from Florida who originally signed a letter of intent to play for Tennessee last year. But he had to sit out because he didn't qualify academically. He recently gave a verbal and signed a scholarship agreement with the Gophers.
Unfortunately, I'm being told that he did not qualify to be admitted here, the reason for his change of commitment.
Just to clear things up: Green did not sign a letter of intent to play at the U. An athlete can only sign one LOI and Green already had signed one with Tennessee. That means any subsequent commitment or signed scholarship agreement is not binding.
Meanwhile, the rumors continue to fly on offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch. Especially where Chicago is concerned, now that Jeremy Bates is going to go from USC to Seattle with Pete Carroll. This issue should be decided, one way or another, soon. And don't count out the possibility of Fisch returning to the NFL with Mike Shanahan in Washington.
