January 16, 2012 at 6:19AM

The Gophers wrestling team recorded its 24th shutout under coach J Robinson on Sunday, winning at Purdue 40-0. The last time the Gophers shut out Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind., was in 1966, when they defeated the Boilermakers 30-0.

"Anytime you shutout your opponent it is exciting," Robinson said. "We wrestled with an aggressive attitude today. I think the biggest thing is it helps our guys with confidence and that is important as we go down this last stretch of the season."

Chris and Nick Dardanes, Dylan Ness, Alec Ortiz, Tony Nelson, Cody Yohn, Logan Storley, Kevin Steinhaus, Scott Schiller and Zach Sanders all posted victories.
