After receiving a commitment from the top player in Wisconsin, the Gophers women’s basketball program got one from the top player in Nebraska on Thursday.
Kylee Paben, a 6-1 forward for Millard West High School in Omaha, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “I am beyond grateful and excited to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota to continue my academic and athletic career! I would like to thank all my coaches, teammates, trainers, and family for all the support!”
Paben averaged 13.2 points per game last season as a junior and was named second-team all-state by the Omaha World Herald. Paben scored 19 points to lead Millard West to a 70-44 victory over Omaha Westside in the Nebraska Class A state championship in March.
Millard West also won the state title in 2024 and is 55-2 over the past two seasons.
This summer, Paben averaged 19.9 points for the Nebraska Attack AAU team.
Paben joins Natalie Kussow of Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead, who committed earlier this week, and Crosby-Ironton guard Tori Oehrlein in Gophers coach Dawn Plitzuweit’s 2026 recruiting class.
