The second-seeded Gophers women's basketball team used a 19-8 run in the final minutes of the second half Friday to beat Manhattan 67-54 at Williams Arena and advance to the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) championship game.

The Gophers will be host to Northern Iowa in the final on Sunday.

Katie Loberg led the four Gophers (18-17) in double figures with 15 points. Rachel Banham chipped in 14 points, and Kiara Buford and Micaella Riche added 10 points apiece.

The Gophers shot a season-low six free throws, making all six, and committed a season-low six fouls. The Jaspers did not attempt a free throw.

Huskers choose Miles Nebraska hired Colorado State's Tim Miles as its new basketball coach.

Colorado State athletic director Jack Graham said Friday night that Miles, 45, had resigned so he could take the job with the Cornhuskers. Miles, who toured Nebraska's facilities on Friday morning, is expected to be introduced at a news conference Saturday in Lincoln.

Miles, who replaces Doc Sadler, just finished his fifth year at Colorado State. This season he coached the Rams to a 20-12 record and their first NCAA tournament berth since 2003. They lost to Murray State 58-41 in the first round.
