November 8, 2013 at 2:35AM

The No. 1-ranked Gophers women's hockey team plays St. Cloud State in 3 p.m. games Friday and Saturday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Minnesota (10-0, 8-0 WCHA) has a NCAA record 59-game winning streak going. And the Gophers have dominated their rivalry with the Huskies, holding a 56-3-2 all-time advantage, including 14 wins in a row.

St. Cloud State (1-6-3, 1-5-2) is coming off a 4-1 victory and and a 1-1 tie at Minnesota Duluth last weekend.

Seniors Kelly Terry and Sarah Davis of the Gophers both reached 100 career points last weekend in a sweep of Minnesota State Mankato and sophomore Hannah Brandt, who has a team-high 16 points, needs only two more to attain the same milestone.

Etc.

• The Gophers volleyball team starts a four-match homestand by facing Iowa at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sports Pavilion. No. 9-ranked Minnesota is 8-0 at home this season.

• Wisconsin is renewing its hockey rivalry with North Dakota — just as the Gophers recently announced they were doing. The Badgers will play UND in two-game series in four of the next five seasons.

Nic Dowd of St. Cloud State and Ryan Walters of Nebraska Omaha are two of 20 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award, based on overall achievements, in college hockey. Walters is from Rosemount.
