The University of Minnesota has received commitments from two 6-foot-3 centers, one of whom originally committed to Northern Illinois.

Annalese Lamke of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School in southwestern Wisconsin changed her mind about Northern Illinois after the head coach who recruited her resigned in April. She was given her release by the school this week and then said she would attend Minnesota.

Lamke averaged 19.9 points per game was ranked the 49th best center in the country by ESPN.

Also joining the Gophers will be Jessie Edwards, who averaged 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game while playing for Australia in the Australian Junior Championships last year.

The Gophers will be looking for a new starting center after Amanda Zahui B., an All-America selection last season, left school for the WNBA. She was the second player drafted and currently plays for Tulsa.
