The Gophers women's basketball team, off to the third-best start in program history, moved up one spot into a tie for 13th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Gophers (9-0) are ranked for the fifth consecutive week. They have two more nonconference games before beginning the Big Ten season on Dec. 28.

The top five are UConn, Notre Dame, Baylor, Louisville and Mississippi State.

Kansas men No. 1

Kansas took over the top spot in the men's poll after previous No. 1 Gonzaga lost to Tennessee on Sunday.

The Jayhawks are followed by Duke, Tennessee, Gonzaga and Michigan.

The Vols have their highest AP ranking since hitting No. 1 in 2007-08.
