First every 20 years

Bicycle racer Jeff Hall, 20 years after winning this race for the first time, won the 33rd annual Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival in Cable, Wis.

Hall, of Farmington, outsprinted David Flatten to win the 40-mile race in 2 hours, 6 minutes and 23 seconds.

"I've done countless Chequamegons … and the conditions this year were pretty good," Hall said. "It always feels great to be back."

Chloe Woodruff of Prescott, Ariz., won the women's race in 2:19.58. Last year's winner, Jenna Rinehart of Minneapolis, had a crash but came in third.
