Gophers coach Hugh McCutcheon will be inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame on Nov. 10 in Holyoke, Mass., the location of the sport's birthplace.

He led the U.S. men's national team to the gold medal in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the U.S. women's team to silver in the 2012 Olympics in London.

McCutcheon called being part of the 2018 class of inductees a "humbling and profound honor. It's quite surreal. In a profession that doesn't allow for much looking back, this type of thing forces you to reflect and I just feel extremely grateful to all of the people that I've shared this journey with."

U's Smith up for running back award
