* The Gophers landed a commitment from Kiondre Thomas, a consensus three-star cornerback from Fort Smith, Ark., who also had a reported offer from Mississippi State. Thomas is the 18th player committed to Minnesota for the 2016 class.

Wide receiver Eric Carter is probable, but the list of players who are out remains very long: Isaiah Gentry, Jalen Myrick, Ace Rogers, Damarius Travis, Eric Carter, Jeff Jones, Craig James, Josh Campion, Brian Bobek, Isaac Hayes, Ben Lauer, Lincoln Plsek, Steven Richardson and Scott Ekpe.
