Gophers update: Kiondre Thomas commits; Campbell to play in Shrine Game; injury updates

Kiondre Thomas is the 18th player committed to the Gophers for the 2016 class.

* The Gophers landed a commitment from Kiondre Thomas, a consensus three-star cornerback from Fort Smith, Ark., who also had a reported offer from Mississippi State. Thomas is the 18th player committed to Minnesota for the 2016 class.

Thomas announced the news on Twitter:

* Gophers senior linebacker De'Vondre Campbell accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game.

* The Gophers released their depth chart an injury report for the Iowa game. Wide receiver Eric Carter is probable, but the list of players who are out remains very long: Isaiah Gentry, Jalen Myrick, Ace Rogers, Damarius Travis, Eric Carter, Jeff Jones, Craig James, Josh Campion, Brian Bobek, Isaac Hayes, Ben Lauer, Lincoln Plsek, Steven Richardson and Scott Ekpe.
