Gophers women's basketball star Rachel Banham tweeted support for Brussels Tuesday morning after terrorist attacks on Belgium's capital city killed at least 30 people and injured 230 others.
Banham planned to spend spring break in Brussels visiting her boyfriend Andre Hollins, a former Gophers men's basketball standout, who plays professionally in Belgium. They canceled the trip after the attacks.
The Gophers women's basketball team's season ended Sunday with a loss to South Dakota in the second round of the women's NIT.
Praying for the world we live in— Andre Hollins (@AndreHollins) March 22, 2016
Hollins' former Gophers teammate Austin Hollins (no relation) plays professionally in France and spread word that his friends and family in Brussels were safe. Andre and Austin both grew up in Tennessee and met in high school before playing together at Minnesota.
I'm so blessed that no one I know was hurt in Brussels and that my fam got out of there before the attacks. My prayers go to the victims — Austin Hollins (@aHolli_20) March 22, 2016
