Gophers softball team improves to 14-0, baseball team sweeps Seattle

Maddie Houlihan went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Kendyl Lindaman went 2-for-3 with four RBI as the undefeated Gophers softball team defeated Idaho State 12-2 in five innings on Sunday in Fresno, Calif.

The Gophers (14-0) scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning and four in the third.

Danielle Parlich, Sydney Dwyer and Sara Groenewegen also all had multiple-hit games.

Tori Finucane went four innings in the circle to pick up her second victory of the season. She allowed only two hits and two earned runs while striking out four batters. Finucane is now 2-0 with a 3.33 ERA and 15 strikeouts on the season.

Kendal Judge pitched the final inning and did not allow a hit.

U baseball sweeps

Luke Pettersen went 3-for-4 to continue his torrid start to the season as the Gophers baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Seattle University with a 11-7 victory at U.S. Bank Stadium.

In five games Pettersen is 13-for-17 (.765) with six RBI. Jordan Smith went 4-for-5 and had four RBI for the Gophers (4-1).
