Gophers' Schoullis has hat trick for U.S. women's rout of Japan

The U.S. beat Japan 13-0 in women's hockey in 12 Nations tournament in Finland.

Senior redshirt Jen Schoullis scored a hat trick as the U.S. team rolled over Japan 13-0 on Thursday in the IIHF 12 Nations tournament in Finland. All her goals were in the third period.

Gophers freshman Amanda Kessel had two assists for the U.S. while former Gopher Jenny Potter had a goal, her 100th for the U.S. in international competition. Potter, of Edina, also had an assist.

The U.S. team plays Switzerland on Saturday.
