Stats: Smith has rushed for 1,084 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 1,477 all-purpose yards, including a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown against Rutgers.

Honors: Smith was a third-team All-Big Ten selection. Teammates voted him their most valuable player, and Gophers coaches picked him as one of three co-captains for 2017, along with Jonathan Celestin and Brandon Lingen.
