7 p.m. Friday and Saturday vs. Ohio State • Mariucci Arena • FSN (Fri.), ESPNews (Sat.), 1500-AM

Gophers at a glance: The Gophers have lost three in a row since blowing a two-goal third-period lead at home against Minnesota State Mankato three weeks ago. St. Cloud State added to the disappointment by sweeping the Gophers at Mariucci Arena last weekend and pushing them three games under .500 (4-7). The Gophers are 1-5 against in-state rivals this season and 4-11 in the past 15 rivalry games dating back to last season. Part of the problem has been holding late-game leads. They have led in the third period in three of their past four losses. … Friday’s game will be streamed on BTN2Go and Fox Sports Go, Saturday’s game on WatchESPN.

Buckeyes at a glance: Ohio State (3-9) lost its first seven games of the season but since then is 3-2. The Buckeyes, however, were swept last weekend at No. 6 Omaha. They are a young team with 10 freshmen, three from Minnesota, including Edina standout Tyler Nanne — grandson of Minnesota hockey legend Lou Nanne and cousin to Gophers junior forward Vinni Lettieri — who has been injured throughout the first two months of the season. The Buckeyes rely on speed to run their offense and shouldn’t have a problem keeping up with the Gophers on Mariucci Arena’s big ice surface. They are led by top goal-scorer Nick Schilkey (seven goals, six assists).
