Gophers left guard Jared Weyler has a torn triceps muscle and probably will miss Saturday's game against Northwestern, coach Tracy Claeys told KFAN (100.3-FM) on Tuesday.

Weyler has been one of the team's top linemen this season, so this is a setback, especially for the team's running game. The Gophers did not list Weyler on the team's injury report Tuesday, but Claeys announced the news after his weekly press conference.

To replace Weyler, the Gophers could use Vincent Calhoun, who is currently listed as the backup at right guard, behind Garrison Wright. They currently have Bronson Dovich listed as the backup behind Weyler, and they also have Connor Mayes.

In other injury news, Claeys said it's uncertain whether tight end Brandon Lingen (foot) will be available for the team's bowl game.
