Columbus, Ohio – The Gophers hockey team's road and scoring woes continued Friday night.

Senior Christian Lampasso scored with 1 minute, 16 seconds left in overtime as Ohio State upset the No. 7 Gophers 2-1 in a Big Ten Conference game at Value City Arena. "I just tapped it home," he said. "It was a nice, easy open-netter."

The Gophers (10-8-1, 4-6-1-1 Big Ten) are now 1-6-1 on the road this season and, for the fourth time in the past five games, scored two goals or less.

"Minnesota is always a measuring stick for us," Buckeyes coach Steve Rohlik said. "For us to get a win at the end, is a big win for us."

Sophomore Tanner Laczynski gave the No. 15 Buckeyes (9-4-4, 4-4-1) a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal at 14:46 of the opening period. It was his seventh goal of the season — Laczynski leads OSU with 21 points. Junior Mason Jobst got one of the assists on Laczynski's goal, giving him 100 points in 91 career games.

Rem Pitlick of the Gophers tied the score at 1-all with only 3:44 left in the third on his team-leading ninth goal of the season. Casey Mittelstadt found him on a pass from the left side and he converted from near the right post.

Junior goalie Sean Romeo of the Buckeyes made 32 saves, none in overtime. Eric Schierhorn had 26 saves for Minnesota, two in the extra period.

Ohio State, which came into the game with a penalty kill at an NCAA-best 91.5 percent, killed off five power plays, improving that percentage even a little more. The Buckeyes were 1-for-4 with a man advantage.
