The Gophers women's 4x100 meter relay broke the school record in the event at the Big Ten meet at Wisconsin, finishing in 44.55 seconds in the preliminaries. In the finals, they ran 44.73 to take third place.
That was one of the highlights on a weekend when the team as a whole was ninth with 45 points.
Todea-Kay Willis, the leadoff runner on the 4x100 relay, was second in the long jump. Kylie Peterson and Chimerem Okoroji, two of her teammates on the 4x100, were sixth and seventh in the 100.
The Gophers' only other top five finishes came from freshman Christina DeLakis who placed third in the shot put and Laura Docherty who was fourth in the 10K.

The Gophers men's track and field team finished seventh in the Big Ten meet in Madison.
Junior Quentin Mege won the only title for the U, winning the hammer throw for the second year with a school record toss.
The Gophers had three second-place finishes: Dave Pachuta in the 800 in 1:46.74, a school record; Hassan Mead in the 5K and Jack Szmanda in the decathlon.
