Junior Simone Kolander's goal in the 80th minute gave the Gophers a 2-1 win over Ohio State in a Big Ten women's soccer opener in Columbus, Ohio.

The Buckeyes (5-2-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, but sophomore Sydney Squires tied the match in the 67th minute for the Gophers (6-1-2) on a shot from the top of the penalty area.

Kolander then scored her fourth goal of the season, firing the ball into an open net after the OSU goalkeeper Jillian McVicker dived to block her first shot attempt.
